I LOVE my hair! This is the third time I have visited Salon Borealis and walk away incredibly happy each time. My mom lives in Seattle and now only has her hair done by Michael when she is visiting Portland because he does such an amazing job coloring her difficult hair. While I was in the salon, two women were there who drove all the way from Yamhill just to get their hair done. Highly recommended, fun atmosphere, and fabulous color and cut!
Michael has been cutting my hair for years. He has a talent that is incomparable. I never have to worry when I sit in the chair. I always step out of his shop feeling beautiful. Michael, thank you for making my hair famous!
I can’t thank Michael enough for his amazing service! My experience with Michael confirmed that sometimes other stylists don’t have the interest or investment in their craft to actually be the creative artist they signed up to be. Michael gave my hair the time and attention it desperately needed for a long time, giving me a set of amazingly bright, light highlights, the kind my other stylists could not deliver. I also requested a challenging cut, going from kind of long blah to an “a line” bob which is also amazing. I am really happy with the outstanding, attentive service that I received, and I am happy to have a stylist whose work I really love!
The truth is that I cannot stop saying ‘Wow.’ It’s what I’ve said since I walked out of your salon, Michael. You are an artist, detailed and au courant in every sense, taking the time to explain your procedure so very thoroughly. Your ability to mix warm and cool tones to create an edgy yet natural look has produced nothing short of a gorgeous look that works, both in the office and onstage with the band! The effect has done wonders for my skin tone. You were spot-on, darling. Love the new color line from Italy. Thank you, thank you, for being you. xo!
Michael is the top colorist in the city. He is a genius with color. He should be world-renown or have a TV show, he is that great! I have been going to him for over 10 years, first at Zen Do and now Salon Borealis. He is the best of the best in town and on the entire West coast. I used to live in LA and went to many of the greats there like Jose Eber and Christoph, the salons of the stars, and I can honestly say, Michael is equal to or better than anyone in LA! I love this guy!
Michael is the very best! A skilled practitioner of color, style and cut, nobody does it better! Nobody! His first words to me 15 years ago when I entered his North Plains salon to set up my first appointment was “Your hair looks like hell, I know just what you need!” I looked at myself in the nearby mirror and realized how right he was! He’s been working his magic on me ever since!
